Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out info@tempotherapeuticmassage.com if you can't find an answer to your question.

Tips are not expected. This is a private massage therapy practice, and I price sessions transparently to reflect the full value of the work. While gratuities are always appreciated if you feel inclined, they are never required or assumed.

It’s best to avoid massage therapy immediately after an injury, fall, or traumatic physical event. While massage can be an effective tool for relieving muscle tension, reducing stress, and supporting recovery, it is not a substitute for medical treatment. If you're experiencing acute pain, inflammation, swelling, or limited mobility, it’s important to consult a licensed healthcare provider first. They can help determine whether massage is appropriate for your condition and when it’s safe to begin.

Massage too soon after an injury can potentially make things worse. Once you’ve been medically evaluated, therapeutic massage techniques like deep tissue, trigger point therapy, or myofascial release may help support long term healing and reduce chronic discomfort.

I specialize in deep Tissue, myofascial release, trigger point massage for lasting relief, Swedish massage and integrative therapeutic bodywork.

Massage should never feel unbearable. Some discomfort is normal during deep work, especially on  areas of tension, but I always work with your preferred pressure and tolerance level and communicate throughout the session.

I always encourage clients to speak up!
If you need more or less pressure, if the table warmer is too warm or not warm enough, if the music volume needs adjusting, or if you're feeling too hot or too cold — just let me know. If you'd like me to revisit an area that was worked on earlier, that’s totally fine too.
Almost anything can be adjusted. Your comfort is essential, and open communication helps me tailor the session to your body’s needs in real time.

The frequency will depend on your individual needs, preference and budget. Some of my clients book their massage with me weekly, Bi-weekly, while others come in monthly.

I don’t offer couples massage. My practice is focused on individual sessions.

Yes, I offer massage therapy for children starting at age 12. Sessions are 45 minutes long and tailored to be gentle, age appropriate, and supportive of relaxation and overall well being. For children who are new to massage, this length provides a comfortable introduction. A parent or legal guardian must be present in the room for the entire session, in accordance with state regulations and professional standards of care.

Yes, I offer prenatal massage for expecting individuals to help relieve stress and ease the physical changes that come with pregnancy. Many therapists (myself included) recommend waiting until the second trimester because the first 12 weeks are the most delicate stage of pregnancy. After that, massage can be a wonderful support throughout your pregnancy journey unless your pregnancy is considered high risk and your doctor advises otherwise. During your session, you’ll be comfortably supported with pillows in a side-lying or semi-reclined position, and I’ll use gentle to moderate pressure tailored to your needs.

It depends on your body structure, tension, and the results you’re looking for.  A full body massage covers your back, head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, feet, and sometimes your face. To give each area proper attention without rushing, most people need at least 60 minutes, and often 90. However, depending on your body frame and level of tension, even 60 minutes can feel short. Larger or more muscular bodies—or those carrying higher tension—may require additional time for the most effective results.
